The Chardon Parks & Recreation Department provides several great programs for young ladies interested in learning or improving their skills in the game of basketball. These programs have been the starting point for many of the current and former players of the Chardon middle and high school teams.

The Fall recreation program offers developmental instruction in the sport of basketball for any girl in grades 1 through 6. Players of all skill levels are welcome. You will find value in this program whether you are just learning the game or simply wish to fine tune your existing skills. Please see information on the city's web site at Chardon.cc for more information.

The Travel Team Program is an extended program for young players already proficient in the game of basketball. These teams compete in leagues and tournaments against experienced teams from other communities. Advanced players interested in playing on one of Chardon's teams should note that travel team tryouts are usually held in late September or early November. You must try out to make one of these teams. Please see the Program Overview menu for more information.

This site will contain the latest communication, schedules, and program information for the Travel Teams throughout their seasons.

Information on the Chardon Girls' Youth Basketball Tournament can be found at GYBT.chardonrec.com. Please remember that all travel team parents are required to volunteer some time during the tournament. All profits earned are invested directly back into the travel program to help keep your travel team registration fee reasonable.
